African Textile Manufacturers Ltd (A.T.M.), Challawa-Kano was incorporated in January 1980. But the actual activities of the company commenced only in January 1998. The company started from her present Head office at No. 53 Fagge Takudu, Kano, Nigeria.
:: Our Products ::
The company’s area of specialization is the production of the African and wax prints. Our products have brand names as Crowntex, Duniya, Queentex, FESTAC, WAZOBIA and Abada Real wax. These products are very popular for fashionable dress fabrics and have a consistent demand in the traditional African markets and in many other African countries. The products of the company have been well established in the market and we are at par with existing market leader in terms of quality. Our endeavour is to penetrate the Nigerian local markets and also take into consideration the existence of high potential demand of the products. This is basically why our products and services are properly positioned in terms of capacity to satisfy the demands in both local and international markets.
:: Departments/installed capacity ::
At present, the company has four large divisions for textile production, having state-of-the art manufacturing and quality management facilities. These include Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing, Printing, Finishing and wax prints. The company has installed capacity of 25,632 spindles of spinning, 160 looms at its weaving section and it processes 50,000 metres and 70,000 metres of its super and wax printing respectively per day. The plant and machinery have been sourced from the leaders in the textile machinery industry i.e. Spinning plant from RIETER, ZINSER, and MURATA & SCHLAFHORST. Weaving plant from BENINGER, SUCKER MULLER & SULZER. Processing plant from STORK, BRUCKNER, WAKAYAMA, KYOTO, HISAKA, ARIOLI, MUZZI, ARTOS, and SANTA-LUCIA. Quality Control Laboratory is equipped with very modern testing instruments from USTER, WIRA, SHIRLEY DEVELOPMENT LTD, DATA COLOUR, and XENOTEST 150 etc. Most of the equipment is with lot of modern Electronics and Computer Controls. This sophisticated technical knowledge is being passed on to local Engineers and Technicians for effective management of production, quality and maintenance of equipment. The company’s major raw material is Nigerian Cotton that is ginned in its own Ginning factory & Lint produced is used in Spinning for manufacture of yarn. Dyes and chemicals are imported from the best-known manufacturers of the world.

ATM Ltd has about 2000 Nigerian workforce performing different roles as employees in addition to highly experienced and efficient team of techno-commercial experts of international standard that have assumed various responsibilities as managers looking after various departments of the company. As a newly established textile industry, the company’s operations so far is encouraging and considering the gloomy state of textile industries and manufacturing companies, it is our hope that with hard work coupled with expected government good policy on textile industries in Nigeria, the operations of the company would certainly improve for better

We are registered member of Kano –Nigeria Chambers of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) as well as National Textile Manufacturers Association (NTMA). The company indeed has passed through the test of Standard organization of Nigeria (SON).
